Select menu: Help | Computer-Assisted Statistics Textbooks (CAST)
CAST stands for Computer-Assisted Statistics Textbooks and consists of a collection of electronic textbooks (e-books). This dialog allows you to search through the index of CAST e-books. The CAST e-books cover material in introductory statistical methods with data and scenarios from different application areas. To link CAST to Genstat you will need to download CAST version 4.1 or greater to your computer. The Tools | Options CAST tab can be used to link Genstat to CAST and select the e-books to use for this dialog. Look for
Lets you enter the name of the help topic. When text is entered into this field the list of available help topics will scroll to select a topic that matches the specified text.
Within e-book
Provides a list of e-books that can be used to refine the search. If you are searching for a help topic from a specific e-book then you can select the e-book from the list and the help topics will only be displayed related to that e-book.
Filtered by Section
Provides a list of topics that can be used to refine the search. If you are searching for help for a specific type of analysis you can select the section from the list and the topics will only be displayed related to that section.
Action buttons
| Open | Opens the CAST help topic. If more than one e-book is included in the search then a dialog will open enabling you to choose which e-book to open. |
| Close | Close the dialog. |
