In the wheat data set, the countries with the highest wheat yield were in Western Europe.
The distribution of state heights is related to the geography of the country. The outlier is Alaska which is also geographically separated. The cluster of high states contains parts of the Rockies.
The first data set contains the yields of wheat (in tonnes per hectare) that were produced in all countries that produced over 1 million tonnes of wheat in late 1996 or early 1997.
The second data set gives the maximum height above sea level in each of the US states.
