Use this diagram to explain that a conditional distribution is the distribution based on the counts in one row or column of a contingency table.
Select Proportion to see the conditional distributions for each Age group. Click on any row to see the fractions underlying the conditional proportions.
Similarly choose Rank from the pop-up menu to display the conditional distributions for each Rank. Click on columns to see the underlying fractions.
The data are taken from a textbook but are probably artificial.
