TB cases in SADC countries in 2005
Use this example to explain the need to think carefully about the variables to tabulate (and display graphically).
The numbers of TB cases in the countries mainly tell you about the sizes of the countries. Click Show cases per 1000 to add columns with the populations of the countries and the ratio of the TB cases to the population (times 1000). Use the '-' button to decrease the number of decimals to one — two significant digits are enough to assess which countries have high and low TB rates.
(You might question the accuracy of the reported values though!)
The table shows the numbers reported cases of TB in the countries of the Southern African Development Community (SADC) in 2005. (Figures from Mauritius were unavailable.)
