Binomial distribution of x and p

Use this diagram to show how n and π affect the shape of the binomial distribution:

  • The distribution of p is centred on π.
  • The spread decreases as n increases.
  • It is symmetric when π = 0.5, but becomes more skew as π approaches 0 or 1.

Mention that the term 'binomial distribution' refers to the distribution of the counts, but the sample proportion is just a scaled version.
