In both examples, drag over the crosses to read off the names labeling the values (bank name or state name).

In the bank data set, a surprising number of the largest banks were Japanese.

The distribution of state heights is related to the geography of the country. The outlier is Alaska which is also geographically separated. The cluster of high states contains parts of the Rockies.

The first data set contains the net assets ($billion) of the top 50 international banks in 1987.

The second data set gives the maximum height above sea level in each of the US states.
