Copying Levels or Labels to the Clipboard

You can copy the currently displayed column labels, levels or ordinals to the clipboard so that they can be pasted into another spreadsheet column, text window or external program. This can be useful when you have a series of trials and want them to all have the same levels or labels (you can copy the column names and descriptions as well).

  1. Put the cursor into a factor column then select Spread | Factor | Copy Labels to Clipboard.
  2. To paste the clipboard contents into another factor column, put the cursor in that column then select Spread | Factor | Paste Labels from Clipboard.

If the text on the clipboard is numerical, then it is placed in the factor’s levels, otherwise it is placed in the factor’s labels.
