SPSS data columns can have up to three special missing value codes associated with them. For example, a 1-5 categorical response may have items 7, 8 and 9 which are special missing value codes meaning, “Unprepared to answer question”, “Not applicable”, and “Invalid response” respectively. This dialog allows you to specify how these special codes are handled.
