Accumulated analysis of deviance

In a generalized linear model, a deviance is a quantity analogous to a sum of squares in an ordinary regression model. Thus, for example, the residual deviance measures how well a generalized linear model fits a set of data. The accumulated analysis of deviance table summarizes the changes in residual deviance and degrees of freedom that have occurred as a sequence of models is fitted.
