Spreadsheet Type

Genstat Spreadsheets can be used to display and edit various types of data structure. The spreadsheet type determines how data is saved into Genstat.

The following types of spreadsheet can be used:

  • vector (text/variate/factor)
  • scalar
  • table
  • matrix
  • symmetric matrix
  • diagonal matrix

Vector Spreadsheet

A Vector Spreadsheet consists of one or more columns containing variates, texts, or factors. Different types of data can be mixed in a vector spreadsheet, although each column can only be of one type. The columns must all be the same length.
